Green Lens Design is an architectural design competition group founded in 2010 by Washington State University 4th year students Jesse Wolfe and Michelle Hassler. The group was created to use architectural design competitions as the medium to promote sustainability on a low income basis, while not jeopardizing the architectural design of the structures.

The promotion of sustainability will be done through the use of research, and demonstration. We have compiled information on the proper use of sustainable technologies put together as a designers guide. There will also be periodical demonstrations of the technologies for groups locally.

Our Low Income promotion will be within the competitions to show that sustainability and environmental responsibility is for everyone. As well as design build projects that will be beneficial to the community.

All of this should still be Design Forward. There is no need to reduce the design of a building to meet sustainable desires, or a tight budget.

By taking in these needs at the beginning one can achieve all three of these goals together. That one must not sacrifice one for another. This is Green Lens Design.
